The Shropshire Association of Cricket Officials has drawn up a summary of rules and regulations which need to be obeyed for 2020 under the social distancing guidance.
1 CHANGING ROOMS CLOSED
Use permitted only for toilet access, emergency first aid; one player at a time to put on or remove protective equipment.
Players must arrive ready changed and bring own hand sanitiser.
Match day bubble of 30 for players, officials and coaches.
2 TOILETS
One In, One Out.
3 SCORERS/SCOREBOXES
Where possible, should not be used; provide gazebo and portable scoreboard.
If used, only one scorer permitted, unless large enough to allow social distancing.
Equipment and scorebooks must not be shared.
No handling of money or players clothing, sunglasses or valuables.
4 STUMPS & MARKS
Stumps must be set up by club
Only umpires to replace bails and remake wicket; sanitise hands.
At close of play, leave stumps in ground and bails on the floor.
Batting lines must be provided.
5 MATCH BALL
Home captain is responsible for care of all match balls.
Home captain to provide new balls at toss for approval by visiting captain and umpires.
No sweat or saliva on ball.
Returned to bowler on full or rolled. Must not be passed round fielders.
Left at base of stumps at any breaks.
Home captain must sanitise at each break.
Not to be handled by umpires.
6 FIELDERS
Must maintain social distancing on field at fall of wicket, drinks breaks, celebrations and tactical discussions.
Wicket-keeper must sanitise gloves, may stand up, slips one metre apart, fielders two metres apart.
No bowler’s marker or cloths provided by umpire.
Sunglasses and sweaters will not be held by umpire. To be placed one metre beyond the boundary.
7 HYGIENE BREAKS
Every 6 overs or 20 minutes, whichever is sooner, when players and umpires must sanitise hands.
Set up at locations around the boundary to speed up process.
8 REFRESHMENTS
Not provided by club.
Must provide own food and drink.
9 SPECTATORS
Must remain socially distanced and maximum of 6 in group.
Must not touch the match ball.
