The Regional Club Clusters initiative is part of a drive by the Board to help support clubs across the county by forming these strategic clusters.
Clubs and Community Manager Steve Reese said: “Shropshire is a large, rural county with few centres of high population density.
“This model of creating six clusters will allow inclusion for all clubs regardless of size.
“Clubs will maintain their identity, BUT will be encouraged to work as regions across aspects where club resources cannot meet requirements, whether that be Girls’ cricket, Under 19s, grounds maintenance to name just a few.
“The map is indicative of where clubs fall, but there will be some overlap and clubs in those catchment areas can flip between regions to suit the activity and the club.”
The first trial of Cluster groups came at the end of the 2018 season when the Under 19s T20 floodlight match with two teams selected from eight clubs on a regional basis – and it proved a big hit.
