Health and safety paramount in sessions
Cricket is back! So now we are looking to get cricket back into schools in September – with a special offer available.
The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has worked closely with the Government and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport to produce guidelines to allow cricket to return in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is acknowledged that cricket is a sport which lends itself to social distancing with a few adaptations and guidelines in place.
Cricket Shropshire Schools Officer Darrell Corfield said: “It has been a strange summer so far with no cricket being possible due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
“But with an easing of those restrictions, and with the ECB working closely with the Government, cricket is returning at all levels of the game.
“So, we are now looking at how we can get cricket back into schools, in a safe and controlled environment, fully complying with any Government and ECB guidelines which are in force.
“We have Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze packages available, and there are also other options available including all-year-round delivery of multi-skills.”
To see the costs for each package, see the attached graphic which can be downloaded below.
All the sessions offered by Cricket Shropshire link in to all the requirements of the National Curriculum.
All sessions are delivered by ECB-qualified coaches with DBS checks and valid Emergency First Aid Certificates.
Here is some of the feedback from schools:
“The staff and children all enjoyed the coaching sessions this term. The staff were particularly impressed with the level of coaching and the manner Ryan had with the children. Top stuff!”
St Marys School in Albrighton
“Thank you for the last 4 weeks, the children have absolutely loved it.”
Grange Park School, Telford
“Tyler was brilliant and the teachers and pupils gave great feedback. Thank you.”
Sir John Fletcher School, Madeley, Telford
“I want to thank you and Graham Furber for all your hard work that you have done. You know we will have you two in school any time.”
Newtown Primary School in Wem
“Coleham School have really enjoyed the sessions which have been delivered by Ryan and Tyler. The children have been encouraged by England winning the World Cup in the summer and have thoroughly enjoyed the fact they have had cricket within their sessions. The children have certainly been inspired and are excited for their sessions for example greeting the coaches with a 'Yes it’s Ryan' or 'Yes it’s Tyler' which has been lovely to see. The children have certainly been able to work as a team and also see the importance of fielding and communication here in particular. We have loved having them in as all the children have got involved. Thanks again – we would love them again.”
