Cricket Shropshire Chairman Adrian Collins is linking up with old school friends to join a humanitarian convoy Ukraine. He will be co-driver of a van heading to the Ukraine/Poland border early next month – and is appealing for cash donations to help buy some of the supplies that are urgently needed in the war zone.
Adrian said: “We have all seen the terrible events unfolding in Ukraine – with the upshot that millions of people are in dire need of basic provisions including food, baby products and medical supplies.“From June 1-6, I am joining a convoy of humanitarian aid vehicles delivering supplies to local charities on the Ukraine/Poland border.
“The convoy we are joining is led by the Cornwall and Devon Sending Love to Ukraine group. I'm the co-driver of a long wheelbase van that we need to fill with donations.
“Through crowdfunding, I am taking cash donations that will be used to buy the supplies – we need to make sure we take a full load! Thanks in advance to everyone who donates.”There is also a list of essential items if people prefer to donate that way – see document attached below.
Donations for Adrian to take down to the convoy can be left at the Shropshire Cricket Board office which is behind the cricket pavilion at Wrekin College in Roslyn Road in Wellington, Telford.
